Double concave cylindrical lens
Bi concave cylindrical lens are mainly used for design requirements that change the imaging dimensions. For example, to convert a spot to a linear spot or to change the height of an image without changing the width of the image. Applications include linear detector illumination, bar code scanning, holographic illumination, optical information processing, computers, and laser emission.
A cylindrical lens is a lens with different radii on the X and Y axes, so the lens is cylindrical or semi-cylindrical in shape and has image magnification on only one optical axis. Cylindrical lenses are used to correct astigmatism in the eye and for rangefinders, which produce astigmatism and stretch a point of light into a line. Ideal for demanding laser processing and medical applications, cylindrical lenses are also widely used to collect and focus light for many imaging applications.
