Meniscus Cylindrical Lens
A cylindrical lens is a lens with different radii on the X and Y axes, so the lens is cylindrical or semi-cylindrical in shape and has image magnification on only one optical axis.
Cylindrical lenses are used to correct astigmatism in the eye and for rangefinders, which produce astigmatism and stretch a point of light into a line. Ideal for demanding laser processing and medical applications, cylindrical lenses are also widely used to collect and focus light for many imaging applications.
