Off-Axis Parabolic Mirror
Off-axis mirror is one of the commonly used components to build terahertz optical path and infrared optical path. Based on the principle of geometric paraboloid, it can focus the collimated beam/collimated THz wave of parallel incident to the focus, and can also convert the terahertz wave or infrared light emitted by the point source into a parallel transmission beam.
The base material of the off-axis parabolic mirror is generally aluminum. The surface is processed with a metal tool. The off-axis mirror can eliminate the phase delay and absorption loss of the transmitted optical element.
Application: Light collection, illumination, imaging, large diameter astronomical mirrors, block submirrors for giant astronomical optical/infrared telescopes, Dall-Kirkham etc.
